Thankful Day 2, 3, and 4

These three are in heaven when they are together!
(Makadee, Kirstee, and Marley)
Day 2:  I am currently student teaching.  I am so thankful for those that have mentored me during this time.  I started my student teaching in a second grade classroom in the Provo School District.  My lead teacher was awesome and so were my supervisors.  I am now teaching in a Kindergarten classroom in Nebo School District.  I love my lead teacher.  She is so great to me.  I am doing really well in my teaching and am starting to really love it.
Day 3:  I am so grateful for my family including my extended family.  Yesterday Marley and I went and helped at Kirstee's birthday party.  As Kirstee's friends arrived she introduced me as her BFF.  It was so cute.  She tells me all the time that I am her best friend and she is truly mine.  It was so fun to talk with Heidi, watch the girls giggle with cute little Marley, and see the joy of having good relationships.  It was such a good day.  Thanks to Heidi and Kirstee for letting us come to the party.  (More to come about this event in a later post)
Day 4: Today I am grateful for the scriptures.  At the beginning of this school year I was really struggling.  I didn't know if I wanted to be a teacher anymore.  I felt inadequate.  For the first time I can remember I wasn't finding joy in teaching.  I was teaching in a way that I don't feel is right for children but if I taught a different way than I would be docked on my observation scores.  Life was not pleasant.  One Saturday I decided to take time out and go to a BYU football game with a friend.  The football tickets we have are right next to one of my favorite people.  They live down the street from us and she was my young womens leader.  She teaches 5th grade.  I poured my heart out to her about my teaching experience.  Immediately she asked if I was reading my scriptures.  I sheepishly admitted that I was not.  She told me I needed to start.  She said that I couldn't have the Holy Ghost to lead me if I didn't invite him.  So I started reading everyday.  It is wonderful how everything changed.  School became a delight and so did teaching.  I am doing well and I know it is because I have been reading in my scriptures!

I love your posts, Jody, especially this one. And especially the last part about reading the scriptures. What a great remeinder of the importance on how to invite the Holy Ghost into our lives. Thank you!
